What you’ll learn:

What is the Gscatter Web App?

The Gscatter web app is a platform for you to access our assets. Click on the Try it free button on the home page and sign up for a free account.

With a Gscatter account, you can browse and download all Graswald assets from the Gscatter store.

Free assets are marked with a green ‘free’ tag. These are for example available for download in our free Blender add-on.

Is the web app easy to use?

Yes, absolutely! We’ve designed the web app to be artist-friendly, with clear images, and information, but obviously, we encourage you to sign up and see for yourself. Every asset is beautifully presented, and each one displays its Latin and English name when you hover over it with your mouse, so you can easily find what you’re looking for. You can also browse by ecotope (more on these below), or by using the search bar. In addition, each asset displays how many coins it costs, or whether it’s free.

Clicking on an asset produces a side bar from the right. Here you’ll see a bigger asset image, file format download options, and file size. And, of course, the all-important Download button. This button will say Upgrade if you’re still on the free plan.

If you’re on a paid plan, simply browse for an asset, click on it, and download the format of your choice.

Account settings and options are available by clicking on your account icon/name at the top right of the screen, which will reveal a flyout navigation menu.

If you need help with file formats, and file installation please see the relevant articles in the main menu.

Introducing ecotopes. What are they?

Ecotopes are complete systems; essentially, collections of assets (plants) that take all the guesswork out of building a scene. When we create our assets, we go to specific locations and identify and scan everything within a 100 x 100 metre radius. These areas are called ecotopes - the smallest ecologically distinct landscape features. When using a Gscatter ecotope, you can mix assets without prior research and look development. All elements fit together perfectly.

Not only does this help you, the artist, build scenes more accurately, it also makes the whole process much faster.
